Following an MBO and a recent acquisition of their UK distributor, our client, a niche market medical device manufacturer, had a real need to strengthen its management team. Previously a family owned and managed business, the strategic focus was to become much more commercially oriented and aimed at serious growth. Part of this growth would come from securing new distribution agreements with partners around the globe.
Central to this would be the introduction of the company’s first Quality and Regulatory Affairs Manager who would ensure compatibility between the client and partner quality systems. Having little experience or knowledge of the Quality function, this posed a problem for the Managing Director who was unsure how to recruit such an individual. Through his business network, the Managing Director was referred to RMG as the recruitment partner who could solve the problem.
In order to have a rapid impact on the business it was essential that the new recruit was a proven quality/regulatory professional with a current understanding of the issues surrounding the medical device industry. RMG implemented an extensive Search campaign to identify and approach individuals with the required skills and experience operating in this sector.
Our knowledge of both the functional discipline and the medical device industry enabled us to deliver an extremely high calibre shortlist. From this shortlist an appointment was made and the individual has far exceeded our client’s expectations.
