A challenging, new role as Operations Manager exists at Johnson Matthey's established catalyst manufacturing site in Clitheroe. The site is part of 'Efficient Natural Resources' a world-class supplier of catalysts, absorbents, additives, licensed technologies and other services to the petrochemical, syngas, oil refining and gas processing industries. Reporting to the Site Manager you will be accountable for all aspects of the 24/7 'Manufacturing Operations' of this large, complex top COMAH site (c200 total site staff, plus contractors). Being part of the site Senior Management team you will also hold shared responsibility for the strategic leadership of the entire site; striving for overall Operational Excellence, a first-class HSEQ and Behavioural Safety culture and to constantly improve to retain its competitive leading edge position and deliver even better products to its customers.
We seek an experienced Operations Manager with proven substantial years’ experience of managing multi-plant operations and capable of driving a high performing Operations function and effective succession planning, through direct Production Manager reports and appropriate KPI's. You will ensure continual cost and efficiency improvements, including accurate capacity and production planning. Sponsoring asset and infrastructure improvements to deliver exciting current and future strategic plans, you will have an appreciation of World Class Process Automation and some past experience of overseeing the development of key CAPEX projects. Most importantly, through your style and approach you will become a role model to engender company values to foster an environment that develops and coaches its people.
You will be degree qualified, ideally a Chartered Engineer with a BSc in Chemical Engineering, or BEng/MEng in an engineering discipline, with leadership experience and proven competence of developing and coaching individuals and teams of talented people. You will have worked in a large scale, highly regulated environment and must have Process Safety Risk Management knowledge and experience, with COMAH expertise being strongly desirable.
