I had spent the preceding nine years progressing from Consultant to Partner, operating in executive retained recruitment, firstly in a national agency and latterly in a niche consultancy. Prior to joining the fledgling recruitment industry in 1995, I spent five years in various Sales and Sales Management roles within the Building and Civil Engineering sectors, primarily involved with high value specification products promoted to Architects, Consulting Engineers and Contractors.
