As this was my first recruitment since becoming a manager I was keen to establish relationships with RMG to ensure that they understood exactly what I was looking for. My initial impressions were excellent and my first meeting with Giles Hampson was arranged.
At this meeting I provided Giles with a clear brief on the type of person I wanted to recruit emphasising on the key areas that I felt were essential for the role. This meant that the original BDM role profile and advert needed to be changed to encompass my requirements. Giles interpreted my requirements exactly and the brief that was sent to me for approval was exactly what I had asked for.
This then resulted in Giles presenting 5 candidates for first interviews with me, 4 of which I decided to take through to the assessment day at Calea. Following the assessment day I felt that I was in a very strong position as I had 4 excellent candidates and struggled to pick which one I wanted - a very strong position to be in.
We offered our first choice candidate the position and she duly accepted.
I found the whole process very professional. RMG communicated with me at every stage and I was aware of where we were in the process at every stage. Our candidate joined us in March this year and is proving to be an asset to the team already with extremely positive feedback from our London customers and our internal teams.
